Getting The Sales...

What is better than to start the new year with discussion about getting your prospects to pay for your affiliate product?

Somehow some people will have the idea that getting the prospects to buy your product is to convince them to buy something they don't need and rush their decision before they change their mind. But my friend, let me tell you. Scam artist rush the prospects to buy their stuffs and you, as a professional affiliate marketer, don't need that. What you need is the ability to show your prospects that your products can help them succeed.

You just need to communicate effectively with your prospects and really listen to what they are saying. When you interact with them sincerely, you will know what your prospects really want. Then you can decide whether your product suits them or not.

If your product can't feed their need, tell them honestly. There is no point squeezing a square block into a round hole. You are only getting your customers upset and when they ask for a refund, you will get yourself upset.

Remember, you will always win when you help others to win. You will better. :-)

Now, no matter what kind of business you are in, you are constantly competing with someone else. In affiliate marketing, you are competing with other affiliate marketers for the same market. How are you going to stand out of the crowd then?

What you can do is to understand your prospects behavior and you can do that by building long term friendships with your customers. Talk to your prospects, ask them what you can do to help solve their problem and when they turn to you for help, do your best to answer them.

Once you understand what motivate your prospects, fulfilling their need will easy and the money will follow.

After you close the sale with your customers, you need to see to that your promise is being fulfilled. Ask them did they receive their product and are they happy with the product after a few days. If they are unsatisfied with the purchase, see what you can do and to solve their problem. If you can't solve the issue, direct your customers to talk to the merchant.

Now, that is what I call value added service and that is what sets you apart with the rest of the affiliate marketers. However, through my experience, this kind of extra work does eat into your time. But when there is a chance I can build relationship with my customers, I will go for it. I just want to know more about them. :-)

Cookie

Affiliate programs usually will put a cookie in your prospects computer. So, when your prospects click through your affiliate link to the merchant site but leave, and they decide to buy later, you can still earn the commission.

The question is:

"How long can the cookie last?"

Because some cookies only last 24 hours, some last a month and some last even longer.

Personally I think, having a cookie that last a year doesn't help much because not many people are going to come back and buy your product after 11 months. However, cookie that last 24 hours won't help you to earn in affiliate marketing either. This is because the time span is too short and most people take more than a day to think about their purchase. Unless your product is relatively cheap and fast moving, then that is a different story.

What I am trying to say here is that you need to be clear of how long your cookie is going last and are you OK with that.

When you are OK with the period, then go all out and promote your affiliate product. By the way, you can ask the merchant how long the cookie last if you are unclear about that.

Your 2009 Business Plan

As 2008 is coming to an end, be grateful to what you have achieved in this year. So, have fun during Christmas and celebrate the coming of the new year with all your heart. :-)

After the celebration has ended and the energy subsided, it is time to go back to reality and take a serious look at your affiliate marketing business for 2009. And just like the article you have read, you need a plan to do it. I bet you even read more than 1 articles about how to write your plan. Still, have you look at what you need to do before you write your plan?

If you haven't, let's take a look at what you need to do:

1. When you are writing your affiliate marketing plan, it must be align with your product. It is simply illogic to adopt a marketing plan for car insurance while you are marketing coffee machine (this is an extreme example but you get the idea).

2. Write out on a piece of paper what product you want to sell and see how you can fulfill your customer needs.

3. Ask your prospects whether they are going to buy that product. Ask your prospects what other features they are looking for in your product and how much they are willing to pay for it. Sometime you will find precious ideas to build your product through their input.

4. Before you launch your product, you must let your prospects have a demo of your product. You will want to know how your prospects feel about your product. Listen to their feedbacks and look into what you can do to enhance your product.

Also, by giving a demo to your prospects, you are preparing them to the live version of your product. People are more likely to buy something once they have the feel of the product.

Once you are done with pre-planning, it is time you look at your business plan:

1. How are you going to find your customers? PPC, SEO or article marketing? Since I like to write and share information with you, that is why I choose article marketing and blog. You must align your marketing method with your interest and budget too.

2. How much are you going to charge so that you remain profitable and your customers still see the value in it? For me, I mainly focus on affiliate product. When I am choosing the product, I generally pick the product that I feel is affordable to you and you can benefit from it.

Why? Because I have been through the process of buying expensive stuffs and they didn't work. Please mind my language here, it sucks. So, I learn to offer product that is only valuable to your money.

3. How are you going to convince your prospects to buy? One thing you need to remember is that there will be people who don't buy your things. It is not that you are a bad marketer, just that they have their reasons to keep their money. For instance, they simply can't afford your product.

I bet you been through that and so did I. So, rejoice on the customers you have already converted and learn more new ways to make money online.

4. How are you going to support your customers? How can you do it cost and time effectively? Surely your customers will have question when they bought your product. some even will ask you questions before they buy.

For me, I always set 1-2 hours daily answering emails. I want my customers to get the personal touch from me. It might not sound time effective to you but that is just my dedication to my customers.

5. By the way, you should know that your affiliate marketing success depends on your customer satisfaction. How are you going to keep them happy and be your loyal customers?

Spending time and giving attention to my customers are how I keep my customers happy. And by talking to them, they gave me new ideas to increase my online income. So, why is it you don't want to keep your customers happy?

Marketing Your Product

Do you know people also judge your product quality by price? Let's look at it this way; your prospects are exposed to affiliate marketing guide at $7 and $67 at the same time.

Some prospects are happy that they finally found a guide less than $10. But there are also people who are skeptical about the $7 guide. They might ask what kind of information you are giving them. Is it up to date or are you going to sell them something else afterwards?

So, when you have a good quality product, it should be sold at a decent price. Remember this, cheaper price is just part of your marketing strategies to get your product sold.

Instead you should focus on the uniqueness of your product. My mentor "forced" me to answer these questions before and now I think they will be helpful to you:
  1. Are you the sole provider of this product?
  2. Is there any competitors that offer similar products?
  3. How are your competitors marketing their products?
  4. What can you provide and your competitors can't?
  5. How can that help you to stay competitive in the market?

I always look through these questions when I am searching for my affiliate product. These questions also help me to create the bonuses for my affiliate product. Again, the uniqueness of your bonuses will also help to increase the chances your prospects buy from you rather than your competitor.

What I believe in successful affiliate marketing business is that it is the same as any offline business. It is run by people. Then what these people have that you lack? Among the many criteria, they:
  1. Trust their decision
  2. Never give up

When you believe firmly in your decision, you will do whatever it takes to overcome any obstacles.

Since you already decided to join affiliate marketing, why not put your trust in it? Trust that it can help you to be your own boss; trust that it can help you to spend more time with your love ones and trust that it is the way to your financial freedom.

Look Forward...

From the day you decided to make money with affiliate marketing and get the system, it was the time you look forward only.

I felt the same as how you feel. As an affiliate marketer, I too started to ask question when I failed to make my desire income. I too asked myself why I didn't listen to the rejection. If I had listened to them, I will have more money in the bank and will be free from worrying for my online business. I will have more sleep and more time to do whatever I like.

Then again, I said to myself, rich affiliate marketers also been through the same process as mine. Guess what? They have faith in themselves, they have faith in their future and they have in affiliate marketing. They only look forward to what they will achieve. That is when I also started to look forward in my online business.

Hell's Kitchen...

Have you ever watch Hell's Kitchen before?

When you watch the show, you will know how important consistency is when you are running a kitchen. You just can't cook a perfect wellington now and cook a medium wellington while your customer ordered a well done wellington.

Now, that is the same when you are running your affiliate marketing business. You need to be consistent in whatever you do for your affiliate marketing business.

I know how boring things can be when you repeatedly building your affiliate marketing business and nothing seem to flourish. After that, the more you work for your online business, the stronger the little voice in your head will tell you to quit your new career.

I think that most of you have gone through or going through that stage right? How do you be consistent and shut that little voice then?

So here are some steps you can practice to be consistent in building your affiliate marketing business:

1. Stop reasoning

We tends to give reasons when we didn't do something and the most common reason is to tell that we have no time and we will do it when we have time.

Hey, when you start telling yourself that, it marks the point you are giving up building your online business.

What you need to now is to justify within yourself whether what you say is right. Is it really that you are so occupied with other things or is it your fear of failure kicked in?

Be honest with yourself when you are giving reasons.

2. Refer to goal

I know a lot people never set goals. They just jump into this business and wanting to earn as much money as possible. But that is not the thing we are discussing here. So, let's imagine you started out with a goal.

Whenever you notice that you are starting to be inconsistent, go back to your goal. Why do you want to achieve it in the first place? What is so important about achieving your goal?

If you can, have something to remind you of your goal. It can be the picture of your dream home or a mock check with the money you want to earn. So, whenever you look at it, it will motivate you to continue building your affiliate marketing business.

3. Break down your goal

Earning $120,000 from your affiliate marketing business every year might seems impossible when you are starting out in this industry. You will have a hard time believing yourself and aligning your efforts toward the goal.

Instead of that, break down your goal to earning $10,000 every month online can be more achievable. When things seem more achievable, you will be more motivated to do it.

And from there, develop a daily action plan of what you need to do to earn $10,000 every month with affiliate marketing. If an article a day is going to boost your reputation online, by all means, go do it. If reading a blog post can help you to be consistent in your marketing strategies, do read it.

4. Practice

Although you have broken down your goal into small pieces, it means zip when you just leave them like that. Regardless of how small the things are, make sure that you are consistent in doing it.

When you are building a successful affiliate marketing business, sometimes things can get very hectic. You will go around, doing anything you can, thinking to multitask to get your things done.

Guess what? You are only busying yourself and getting things half done.

Take this. When things are getting hectic, take a deep breath and slow down. Prioritize your tasks and concentrate on one thing at a time. For things that you can't attend to them now, write them down and follow up later.

Practice this over and over again and you will get better at what you do.

Do You Want To Be Rich?

If you want to be rich, proper investment is more important than saving.

Looking at the current economy situation and further devalue of money in the future, you can have a rough idea that it will take you a lot of time to be rich by saving your money.

So, it is wise that you look into some investments to secure your financial future.

What can you invest then?

Of course you can invest into the share market, mutual funds, real estates and many more. If you are not familiar with any of these investments, you can hire a professional or learn to be a professional yourself.

Personally, I would recommend you to do both because being totally dependent on someone else is never a good thing especially we are talking about your hard earned money. If you have some knowledge in what you are investing into, at least you can discuss with the professionals about how to maximize your profit.

Now, learning is another form of investment.

With this kind of investment, you empower yourself with certain knowledge and skills that no one can ever take away. And I highly recommend that.

Let's think about this, you are a CEO for a company. Unfortunately, you are sick and are force to take rest for a long period. Now, everyone knows that it is not your fault but due to the profitability of the company, you have to be replaced. So, the questions are, will your company wants you back and how long can you survive with your savings?

Things can be different if you have other skills and knowledge. You can give seminars and share your experience as a CEO if you have learnt effective public speaking. You can even write a book about the life of a retrenched CEO if you have learnt to write effectively.

Although those sounded like crap but it highlights how fragile your future can be if you have no other mode of investments.

So, either you invest in shares or into yourself, you need to do something to secure your financial future.

The hard fact is that not much people will help you if you have no income...

10 Guidelines To Increase Your Sales Letter Response

Is your sales letter doing what it's supposed to? Are you getting enough conversion from your sales letter? When you want better response from your sales letter, look at the following guidelines:

1. Good headline

The headline is the first thing your prospects will see when they click to your sales letter. It must provide a reason for them to read on. You need to spark your prospects' curiosity by including words like "discover", or "how to".

2. Stories

People are always attracted by stories. So, give them a scenario when you are starting your sales letter. When you are promoting a coffee business you can start with:

"People love coffee. The taste of the hot coffee just charges you up for the day." Then, you should elaborate why your prospects should get your coffee beans instead of the commercial coffee powder.

3. Be personal

You must make your sales letter as though you are speaking directly to the prospects. So, it is important your use "you" in your sales letter. People like attention and when you put your prospects as priority, they will feel special. When the feeling is right, they will start to do business with you.

4. Be emotional

Like what read just now, "when the feeling is right, they will start to do business with you." When you want to increase your sales letter, it is wise that you appeal to your prospects' emotion. Highlight how your customers can satisfy their need when they use your product.

5. Be credible

Wise internet marketers only make honest claims about their product. Your prospects can sense your credibility from your sales letter. When they feel something is wrong, they will click away and never return again.

6. Be friendly

Before you publish your sales letter, you must have someone else to read through it or you can read it out loud yourself. This is to make sure you make sense in your sales letter and it is friendly and sincere. Your prospects tend to reject your sales letter when you are being too formal.

7. Now

Your sales letter should be able to get your prospects to act now. Most people don't respond to your sales letter because you didn't tell them to. Tell them to download your product when you want them to buy your ebook. Tell them to fill in their name and email address when you want your prospects to subscribe to your list.

Still, you need to be gentle with your tone while you are doing that. Your prospects dislike bossy words.

8. Testimonials

Your prospects are more convince when they know there are people who benefited from your product. It gives the peace of mind that they are investing their hard earned money into something valuable.

9. Signature

Studies have shown that signing your sales letter in blue will increase your sales letter response.

So, get the right signature and do it right.

10. Extra

Most of your prospects are in a hurry and they just want to know how your product can benefit them. That is why most prospects like to scan sales letter before they read it thoroughly.

Your prospects will usually read the headline first and goes to the bottom to find out who you are. So, it is wise that you put a P.S. after your signature. P.S. like "the free report has helped numerous people to make money with affiliate marketing" is going to tease your prospects to read more.

Unique Selling Proposition (USP)...

When you are in marketing, you hear a lot about creating your unique selling proposition (USP). It doesn't matter the size of your USP, you need to find it, stress on it, highlight it, amplify it and your prospects will buy from you.

But throughout the years, I found that stressing on your USP is only half true of the buying process. The more important question is:

How your prospects view your USP.

Knowing your USP is merely the first step.

Your USP maybe the cheapest in the market but it doesn't make sense to your prospects when they are looking for the highest quality product and service. Likewise, your USP can be the highest quality product and deserve premium price but your prospects will not buy your stuff when they are looking for something affordable and something good enough.

So, it is very important that you align your USP with your prospects needs. There will be no agreement when both of you are pulling and pushing each other.

Sometime, when you are aligning your USP with your prospects, you will find that you will have to give up some prospects. That is OK. You just retreat from the process politely and thank your prospects for the opportunity. Always leave a good impression to your prospects, you never know when they will need you again.

It might sound like this has nothing to do with internet marketing because you can't see your prospects. Actually, many are practicing this and you might not be aware of it.

Can you recall the most recent sales letter you read? Do you remember the bullet points? That is how the merchants align their USP with your needs. When you are selling online, you need to anticipate your prospects questions. Since you can't talk to them face to face, you need to address as many doubts as possible in your sales letter.

Some prospects might email you, asking why they should invest in your product. That is the best time to find out their needs and align your USP with them. Take hold of the chance and do your best to convince them.

I Want To Start My Own Business

"I want to start my own business." You might have thought of that before. Whether you want to start an offline or online business, there are criteria which I think you need to consider:

Capital

As much as you want to avoid it, you need to invest money to make money.

Of course you can afford a grand launching if you have lots of money to invest.

But what if you are just an ordinary person like me? Are we doomed to work for others for the rest of our life?

Of course not.

If you don't have much capital, you can start off with a smaller business model. You can expand your business as more profits are coming in. This will be difficult task. But if you really want to be your own boss, if you really want to take control over your life, you will do it.

Systematic

You can't just think that "I want to start my own business!" and money will come to you.

You need a system to your business.

This is simply because a system provides a guide of what you need to do next and you will know what you will get from every step you have taken. So, if anything went wrong, you will know where to correct it.

Being systematic also helps you to save time and money.

When you identify the problematic step, you can drill in immediately for solution. People often scramble for solution if they don't know what went wrong. But with a system, you save time looking for an answer and you won't be spending unnecessarily for irrelevant solutions.

Risk taking

No matter you are running an offline or online business, there will be risk. There is no guarantee that you will make any profit or getting your capital back.

Let's look at it this way, if you don't dare to take the risk, will you be able to be your own boss?

That is why you need to understand your business to minimize your risk.

Teamwork

Just look at any successful business in the world. Does the business owner do all the things by himself?

If you want to have a successful business, you need to learn delegate responsibilities to someone else. If you are running an online business, you should consider outsource some of your works.

I am afraid that you might be too tired to enjoy the profit from your business if you do all the things by yourself.

Persistence

When you started your business, you might not get your return as soon as you think. Even you make some money, the result might not be as lucrative as you have imagined. Often, that is when most people give up their business.

But before you throw in the towel, I urge you to think about this "Rome was not built in one day" and that goes the same to your business.

Once you have decided to start your own business, you should start to encrypt persistency into your DNA too.

When you are running your own business, there will be more challenges running into you. If you are not persistence in pursuing your dream, what you have done so far will be flush into the drain.

Learn from mistakes

There is a high tendency that you will make mistakes in your business.

It can be a single word in your message that ruins your business. You might not like one of the words in this post and cause you to not find out more about the ad at the side.

It can be this paragraph that causes you to not believe in me.

There are lots of chances for you to make mistakes in your business. But no matter what it is and how heavy it is, you must be prepare to learn from the mistakes.

Your Biggest Fear In Affiliate Marketing...

If I am right, your biggest fear in affiliate marketing is same as mine when I started the business,

If you don't know who Terry Fox is, let me give you a brief introduction about him. Terry Fox was a Canadian with bone cancer who ran 3,339 miles (around 23.3 miles per day or 5,373km) in 143 days with one prosthetic leg to raise money for cancer research. He is considered one of Canada greatest heroes and his run has impacted a lot of people.

In the video, you can see him running in day and rain. Can you imagine the pain to run with a prosthetic leg and bone cancer? Can you imagine celebrating your last birthday in a run?

Possibly Terry never thought of what if he fail to run? Maybe he also never thought of he will break another leg or worsen his bone cancer during the run. He only focuses on what he wants which is to raise money for cancer research.

So, from now on, focus on what you want for your affiliate marketing business. If you want to earn an extra $2000 from your affiliate marketing business, focus on that. If you want to be financially free with affiliate marketing, focus on that.

When you are afraid that you will lose your money with affiliate marketing, it means that you are not in control of your finance. So, this is your time to learn to manage your finance.

With all the money you have every month, after deducting the necessary expenses, how much you still remain to invest in your affiliate marketing business? Invest that money into something you must have to build your affiliate marketing business.

It can be an affiliate marketing guide, mentor, website or training program. How you invest your money depends on what you need and how much you can invest.

Long Tail...

Are you targeting common keywords or long tail keywords for your affiliate marketing business?
Many internet marketers go into internet marketing with keywords or key phrases that are commonly used by other internet marketers. It is normal to think that your prospects will look for your product with common keywords. Your competitors think the same.

When that happens, your website will rank low on the SERP (search engine result page) because you are sharing the same keywords with don't know how many other websites.

That is why you should start looking into long tail keywords. These keywords are cluster of words that is low competition and targeted.

Let's take the example of "affiliate marketing". By the time this post was written, "affiliate marketing" has 802 searches a day and 1,190,000 websites competing for a top 10 ranking on Google SERP. That is a lot of competitors if you are just starting in the business.

Then, when you try "make money with affiliate marketing", there are only 4 searches a day and 5270 websites competing for the top 10 Google ranking.

Now, as a wise affiliate marketer, which keyword will you choose to use? Of course is the long tail keyword. Looking at the current economy situation and further devalue of money in the future, you can have a rough idea that it will take you a lot of time to be rich by saving your money.

Make Your Move Today...

This post has nothing to do with internet or affiliate marketing, it is just something from my friend and to share with all of you.

1. Seize the opportunity

You should know that good things hardly stay long. Once they are gone they are gone. If you think this is a once in a lifetime chance, you must grab it immediately.

2. Keep in contact with your friends

Friends don't come with a snap of finger. You put in effort and build the friendship. Don't you think is a waste that you throw away something so precious? Take the initiative and call your friends now.

3. Treasure the relationship

We live in a society and interact with people everyday. How you interact with others can either strengthen or break the relationship. Unless you are trying to get something from the relationship, you should be genuine when dealing with others.

4. Trust in yourself

Books, seminars, coaching programs or consultants only pave the way to self-confidence. None of them can make you believe in yourself unless you truly believe in yourself. Start your day with positive affirmation and build the trust in yourself. You will be to tackle almost anything if you have the strong faith in yourself.

5. Be humble

People just want to help when they offer their advice. Sometime it might sound like deafening clang and sometime it might sound like music to your ear. But no matter how it sounds, you should accept their advice and analyze whether their comments are useful or not.

6. Life can be vulnerable

Many thought of exercising more and eating more healthily when they are sick. By the time you thought of that, you might be lying on the sick bed. Start your exercising and eating plan today.

7. Try to be helpful

If you have read any superhero comics, you will notice that the superhero will come to you when you call for it. We are not superhero still we can attend to others whenever we can.

8. Be honest

You and I make mistakes and so do others. The most important thing is that you are able to admit your mistakes before you start to rectify them. Hiding your mistake is destructive enough. It is even worse if you blame your mistake to others.

9. Love life

Life is full of beautiful things. The soft sunshine in the morning, the gentle wind on the beach, the magnificent view of the mountains and there are a lot more things to be appreciated. Love your life as you love yourself and enjoy it to the fullest.

Internet Marketing – Run It Part Time or Full Time

Sometime I do get question like this. So, let's discuss about it today.

What do you think? Should you quit your job and jump straight into internet marketing? Or should you test the water and run your internet marketing business part time?

My personal advice is that if you have the saving to sustain your lifestyle (and support your internet marketing cost) for at least a year then you can quit your job and jump straight into the water. Let's say you are earning $1000 a month, you should have at least $12,000 in your savings before you can hand in your resignation letter.

Of course, you may be able to achieve financial freedom in less than a year but on the safe side, that is what you need to know before committing to your internet marketing business.

But if you are like some internet marketers who started the business with limited budget (just like me), you should keep your job and build your online business whenever you can. This can be tiring as juggling between 2 careers is certainly not easy.

If you are running your online business part time, you must have a clear schedule. You must know when to focus on your internet marketing business and when to start your day job. Never mix them together. Not just that you will lose focus in both careers, things can turn ugly when your boss found that you are doing personal stuff during his time.

It might be true that you will have less time to build your business compare to those who run their business full time. For me, it is not about how long you work. It is about the quality of your work.

If you are not focus and devoted to build your internet marketing business, you can still fail even you have 24 hours at your hand. But if you can focus your attention and work for your online business without distraction, you will have a successful internet marketing business very soon.

If you are working for someone else now, sometime in your life you must have thought to start your own business. But before you start to be a boss online or offline, you need to know what it needs to be your own boss.

Let's think about this, "What do you want in life and why?"

Is an annual income of $84000 and the title of middle level manager not financial security to you? If not, what is your definition of financial security and why?

To me, I want to secure my children education funds (although I have no children yet). Education fund is quite heavy these days. If you want to send your children oversea for more exposure and education like me, it will cost even more if I don't start to build the business today, I might regret later.

Of course, I also want to spend more time with my family. I have seen some parents with high pose in the company but work so late that they have no time with their children. I want to grow up with them. :-)

No matter what profession you are in, time is certainly tough for us now. People are spending less, the direction of interest rate is uncertain and some are screaming the economy is collapsing.
Hopefully these tips can help you to navigate through this tough period

Financial future

Not just that you are uncertain about your future, your boss will also pressured by his boss. You need to be more effective in your job or help to reduce the company's cost.

If you are afraid that you might lose your job, you should start to think about what you can do in your free time. Can you get some freelance job at your free time?

Search online for freelance job offer. But before you enroll into any of them, check their reputation and remember, no matter what reason, never pay for any fees. They are the one who should be paying you. Not the other way round.

Have you look into the internet? Many have started their business online and are living a financial free lifestyle.

House hold expenses

After saving the company's expenses, you should take a look at your house hold expenses. Is it possible to have more dinner at home or can you bring the family to a local tourist spot instead of oversea?

I know it might be embarrassing to share the financial issue with your kids but now is also a good time to teach your children about financial management. Pretending everything is ok is going to burden you more.

I know getting traffic to your website is not easy and things can be more complicated if you need to pay for the traffic. Maybe when you apply all these free ways, they can increase your traffic to your website:

1. My favorite way of increasing traffic is article marketing. I can hire a ghostwriter to do it for me but since I like to write, I would rather do it myself. So, all the blog posts and article you read are written by me personally. :-)

It might be difficult when you start writing your own articles but it will get easier the more you do it and I can guarantee you that.

After you have your article, submit it to the article directories like www.ezinearticles.com.

2. Create a Squidoo lense and make your content related to your niche. This is similar to article marketing where you post quality information with related keywords.

3. Like what you are reading now, create a blog about your niche and setting up a blog can be free.

Again, just like article marketing, you need to put in specific keywords or phrases to increase traffic to your web site.

Another thing about blog is that you need to post regularly because search engine spiders like constantly updated site. If you constantly update your blog and the posts are keywords targeted, it is easier for your blog to rank high when your prospects search something you are posting in you blog.

4. Another free way to increase traffic to your web site is to comment on related high traffic blogs. Most blog owners will allow you to insert your web site address.

A few things to remember when you comment on others' blog post is to be honest and sincere. Tell the owner what you think about the post instead of agreeing with the owner for the sake of getting traffic.

Affiliate Marketing Mistakes You Need To Avoid...

As the recession is getting more of a burden to a lot of people, more and more people are turning online to look for their income. However, you need to be careful when you are looking for opportunity online.

It is true that affiliate marketing can help you to make a lot of money online. But if you are careless, you are helping scammers to make more money for their own. You on the other hand will be wondering why online venture fail.

So, if you are serious to make money with affiliate marketing, you need to avoid the mistakes below:

1. Be neutral – many will tell you that you can make money online really fast and you can even cash in 5 figures income with just a few hours work. Some of them even show you their big house and fast car to convince you.

What they said might be true but most of them left out a very important detail. They DON'T earn their big house, fast car and 5 figures income overnight. They work hard for it and they might fail numerous times before they are earning the income today.

If you want to make money with affiliate marketing, don't get too excited with what other marketers are showing you. Be neutral and read their offer for a few times. Make sure that you understand thoroughly what you are getting yourself into.

2. Work – if anyone told you that you don't need to work to make money in affiliate marketing, how true do you think that can be?

If you have been working before, you know that you can only make money by putting in your sweat and effort. With affiliate marketing, you can earn money with ease but not without work.

3. Research – there is no better way to find out the legitimacy of the affiliate program by doing your own research. You can Google your affiliate program with the word "scam" to know how reliable the program is.

Please don't skip this part because it is essential for you to achieve your affiliate marketing success.

4. No upfront – one of the privileges of making money in affiliate marketing is that you don't need to pay anything to join the affiliate marketing programs.

If anyone asks you to pay for the joining fee, training course, marketing materials or anything else, you need to avoid them at all cost. Most of the time you will never see any materials after you pay the money and even if you get the package, it might be a low quality package.

5. Forums – sometime what you can do is so limited. Your own research might not show the entire truth about the affiliate program. That is why you need to join a few affiliate marketing or work from home forums and the members to comment on the program.

You will also save a lot of time running around looking for answers.

Difficult Choice...

Do you have enough time to build your affiliate marketing business?

If you re like me, you surely are struggling for time to grow your online business.

Even I have outsourced a lot of work, I am still writing contents for my subscribers and blog, tracking and analyzing traffic, figuring how to increase my opt-in rate, researching for new topic, learning the new things in affiliate marketing and many more. I got so many things to do that I have to sacrifice my gym time (by the way, I love to exercise).

Is not like that I never been to any time or project management seminar and I have a lot of books about the topics literally making somewhat of an expert in both of the topics. But things just couldn't get organize as these books suggested.

So, I am here, asking for your help. What do you think? Should I

a) sacrifice 2 hours of work time and exercise back

b) keep sacrificing gym time and get organize?

I Need Help...

It is depressing that all the things I did to grow my affiliate marketing business has hit rock bottom. Nothing seems to be happening.

My click through rate is so low that it is a pain to think about it. The opt-in rate for my squeeze page is even worst. There has been zero opt-in for 2 months!

Have you experience the similar thing?

What did you do when you fail to grow your affiliate marketing business?

Panic?

Running around asking for solution?

Or you just apply anything that you think is workable?

Sometime the more you want something to happen, the more it goes against your wish. So, it is better you put down all your work on hand and keeps your mind free.

Only start your work again when you are ready. Surely you don't want to start something when your mind is in total mess.

6 Characteristics Of A Rich Person

Being rich is not about working your bud off for your job. If you want to be rich, you need to have some characteristics to it and below are some of them:

1. Desire

If you want to be rich, you need to have a strong desire to it. You can only satisfy your other desires like staying in a mansion or drive a Ferrari 360 spider by having lots of money. The most powerful motivator to make more money is to fulfill your desires.

2. Always Want More

Someone who wanted to be rich is certainly not complacent wit his current situation. If you are satisfy with a 9-5 job, stuck in the traffic while travelling to work and work in a cubicle, then you obviously miss the part to be a rich person. You must build the habit to want more if you want to be rich.

3. Too Analytical

Some people with higher education are too analytical to build their business. What is the odd of me being rich? What if the market is too saturated? Higher education people tend think in the box and lack the courage to take the first step. Sometimes you need to just go do it and adjust your strategies along the way.

4. Interaction

Have a look at the rich people in the world. Most of them have strong networks. It is difficult to be rich if you are alone. Let's take internet marketing as an example, the better you know your prospects, the better you can sell to them. If you have friends all around the world, you will surely find the easiest and most suitable way to make you rich.

5. Curiosity

Curiosity DOESN'T always kill the cat. Sometime in order to be rich, you need to take rick and venture into the unknown. Look into what you are missing in your life and do other people share the same problem as you? Can you create a product like "satisfy your curiosity in 17 minutes"? Let your curiosity guides your creativity.

6. Fear of Poverty

Some people become rich because they had enough with being poor. In my opinion, they have the strongest will power to be rich. They will do whatever they can to make sure they make the money they want. I Was Threaten...

I had a nightmare that my ex boss threaten to remove me from my pose if I failed to bring in more sales for the company.

I was curious when I woke up because I resigned from the company happily and me and my ex boss still go out for dinner once in a while. He never press me when things were bad but he worked with me to solve all the problems. You don’t get any boss better than him.
I don't know why I had that dream and what it means.

In fact, it was him who encouraged me to venture out if I want to earn more money. I still remember he told me that working for others is going to limit my achievements.

I was blessed that I found internet marketing as a career and earn my living ever since. It was really hard to build the business and again I was blessed that the money started to come in when things are getting demoralizing.

Try These Free Ways to Increase Traffic to Your Web Site

I know getting traffic to your website is not easy and things can be more complicated if you need to pay for the traffic. Maybe when you apply all these free ways, they can increase your traffic to your website:

1. My favorite way of increasing traffic is article marketing. I can hire a ghostwriter to do it for me but since I like to write, I would rather do it myself. So, all the blog posts and article you read are written by me personally. :-)

It might be difficult when you start writing your own articles but it will get easier the more you do it and I can guarantee you that.

After you have your article, submit it to the article directories like ezinearticles.com.

2. Create a Squidoo lense and make your content related to your niche. This is similar to article marketing where you post quality information with related keywords.

3. Like what you are reading now, create a blog about your niche and setting up a blog can be free.

Again, just like article marketing, you need to put in specific keywords or phrases to increase traffic to your web site.

Another thing about blog is that you need to post regularly because search engine spiders like constantly updated site. If you constantly update your blog and the posts are keywords targeted, it is easier for your blog to rank high when your prospects search something you are posting in you blog.

4. Another free way to increase traffic to your web site is to comment on related high traffic blogs. Most blog owners will allow you to insert your web site address.

A few things to remember when you comment on others' blog post is to be honest and sincere. Tell the owner what you think about the post instead of agreeing with the owner for the sake of getting traffic.

Never attack other blogger. Even you disagree with the post, the easiest thing you can do is to leave the blog.

The last thing is to never advertise in the comment box simply because it is a comment box. The blog owner and other readers will think that you are desperate to get business and most people dislike that.

5. Did you build your own list?

When you have your own list, you can ask other internet marketer to joint venture with you and cross promote each other websites and products.

6. Increasing traffic to your web site should be fun too. You can also join forums about your niche. Post reply to other members' question, start your own thread and build relationship with other members.

A very important thing you must do before posting to the forum is to understand its rules and regulations because most forums don't allow you to advertise in them. You might be ban from the forum if you do that.

Only promote your web site in your signature link. Look at how other veteran forum members craft their signature and you can model over that.

Some Tips on Article Marketing...

If you are looking for ways to increase your traffic, article marketing is still my personal choice.

Not just that it is free, it also help to screen the visitors to your website. This is because the people who click on your link are truly interested to your offer.

And to get these interested visitors, your need to craft your articles. So, let's see what you need to do here:

1. Keywords

Internet users type keywords or keyword phrases in search engines to look for what they want. It could be things like "cute toilet seat" to "elegant crystal brooch".

That is why you need to focus your articles on the possible keywords or keyword phrases used by your prospects. You can use SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool to determine which keywords or keyword phrases that are your prospects favorite.

Start with a broad keyword and move deeper into more specific keywords. Then, you should write you article on these specific keywords so that your article is targeted so specific group.

2. Keyword density

This is important for the search engine to notice your article. Your keyword density is dependent on the total words of your article. Your keyword density for an effective article should be just nice to make your article effective. Too many keywords might turn your readers off and if you are submitting article to article directories, they might reject your article. However, if your keyword density is too low, the search engine might not detect your article.

If you are writing a 400+ words article, my personal advice is to focus your keyword density at 3% - 5%.

3. Article content

Needless to say, good article content determines how successful your article will be. Your article content must be able to give good information, entertaining and solving your readers' issues.

The more facts and information you can provide your readers, you will develop a professional image in your niche. As more readers start to trust you, it is easier for you to do business with them.

4. Backlinks

You must remember to include a link back to your website if you want to rip the benefit of article marketing. It is unacceptable that you leave out the only way for people to notice your product.

Make sure that you include a short bio about you and your business at the end of your article. Craft a strong call to action message like:

Inspiration

I was impressed when I saw the million dollar round table insurance agents in the newspaper that day.

I wondered how did they do it? What push them to go on despite of the challenges and disappointments? Is it that my determination is not strong enough?

Then only I realized that only successful people survive numerous challenges and disappointments. They grow from challenges and disappointments. They might even look at challenges and disappointments differently from me.

They might stick firmly to their goal and focus 125% into it. They might be so determine that they are wiling to do all they can to realize their dream.

Why You Must Have Your Own List?

I bet you know how important a list is to your affiliate marketing success. So, I won’t repeat the "the money is in the list" lecture.

But really, why do you need a list?

Just imagine you and your prospect are gym patron. Both of you don't know each other. However, both of you have the same purpose, which is to exercise.

It is the same in affiliate marketing, both of you want to earn money, just that both of you are strangers to each other.

So, a list acts as a link or bridge for both of you to communicate, sharing things both of you know for the benefits of each other.

Then, from total strangers, now both of you are gym buddies. Both of you help each other to work on the same goal and motivating each other to achieve the goal. Plus, your gym buddy might even ask you to join him at dinner in his house, introducing you to his family members and let you be part of his life.

Do you see what is happening after the bridge is build?
