10 Guidelines To Increase Your Sales Letter Response

Is your sales letter doing what it's supposed to? Are you getting enough conversion from your sales letter? When you want better response from your sales letter, look at the following guidelines:

1. Good headline

The headline is the first thing your prospects will see when they click to your sales letter. It must provide a reason for them to read on. You need to spark your prospects' curiosity by including words like "discover", or "how to".

2. Stories

People are always attracted by stories. So, give them a scenario when you are starting your sales letter. When you are promoting a coffee business you can start with:

"People love coffee. The taste of the hot coffee just charges you up for the day." Then, you should elaborate why your prospects should get your coffee beans instead of the commercial coffee powder.

3. Be personal

You must make your sales letter as though you are speaking directly to the prospects. So, it is important your use "you" in your sales letter. People like attention and when you put your prospects as priority, they will feel special. When the feeling is right, they will start to do business with you.

4. Be emotional

Like what read just now, "when the feeling is right, they will start to do business with you." When you want to increase your sales letter, it is wise that you appeal to your prospects' emotion. Highlight how your customers can satisfy their need when they use your product.

5. Be credible

Wise internet marketers only make honest claims about their product. Your prospects can sense your credibility from your sales letter. When they feel something is wrong, they will click away and never return again.

6. Be friendly

Before you publish your sales letter, you must have someone else to read through it or you can read it out loud yourself. This is to make sure you make sense in your sales letter and it is friendly and sincere. Your prospects tend to reject your sales letter when you are being too formal.

7. Now

Your sales letter should be able to get your prospects to act now. Most people don't respond to your sales letter because you didn't tell them to. Tell them to download your product when you want them to buy your ebook. Tell them to fill in their name and email address when you want your prospects to subscribe to your list.

Still, you need to be gentle with your tone while you are doing that. Your prospects dislike bossy words.

8. Testimonials

Your prospects are more convince when they know there are people who benefited from your product. It gives the peace of mind that they are investing their hard earned money into something valuable.

9. Signature

Studies have shown that signing your sales letter in blue will increase your sales letter response.

So, get the right signature and do it right.

10. Extra

Most of your prospects are in a hurry and they just want to know how your product can benefit them. That is why most prospects like to scan sales letter before they read it thoroughly.

Your prospects will usually read the headline first and goes to the bottom to find out who you are. So, it is wise that you put a P.S. after your signature. P.S. like "the free report has helped numerous people to make money with affiliate marketing" is going to tease your prospects to read more.

Unique Selling Proposition (USP)...

When you are in marketing, you hear a lot about creating your unique selling proposition (USP). It doesn't matter the size of your USP, you need to find it, stress on it, highlight it, amplify it and your prospects will buy from you.

But throughout the years, I found that stressing on your USP is only half true of the buying process. The more important question is:

How your prospects view your USP.

Knowing your USP is merely the first step.

Your USP maybe the cheapest in the market but it doesn't make sense to your prospects when they are looking for the highest quality product and service. Likewise, your USP can be the highest quality product and deserve premium price but your prospects will not buy your stuff when they are looking for something affordable and something good enough.

So, it is very important that you align your USP with your prospects needs. There will be no agreement when both of you are pulling and pushing each other.

Sometime, when you are aligning your USP with your prospects, you will find that you will have to give up some prospects. That is OK. You just retreat from the process politely and thank your prospects for the opportunity. Always leave a good impression to your prospects, you never know when they will need you again.

It might sound like this has nothing to do with internet marketing because you can't see your prospects. Actually, many are practicing this and you might not be aware of it.

Can you recall the most recent sales letter you read? Do you remember the bullet points? That is how the merchants align their USP with your needs. When you are selling online, you need to anticipate your prospects questions. Since you can't talk to them face to face, you need to address as many doubts as possible in your sales letter.

Some prospects might email you, asking why they should invest in your product. That is the best time to find out their needs and align your USP with them. Take hold of the chance and do your best to convince them.

I Want To Start My Own Business

"I want to start my own business." You might have thought of that before. Whether you want to start an offline or online business, there are criteria which I think you need to consider:

Capital

As much as you want to avoid it, you need to invest money to make money.

Of course you can afford a grand launching if you have lots of money to invest.

But what if you are just an ordinary person like me? Are we doomed to work for others for the rest of our life?

Of course not.

If you don't have much capital, you can start off with a smaller business model. You can expand your business as more profits are coming in. This will be difficult task. But if you really want to be your own boss, if you really want to take control over your life, you will do it.

Systematic

You can't just think that "I want to start my own business!" and money will come to you.

You need a system to your business.

This is simply because a system provides a guide of what you need to do next and you will know what you will get from every step you have taken. So, if anything went wrong, you will know where to correct it.

Being systematic also helps you to save time and money.

When you identify the problematic step, you can drill in immediately for solution. People often scramble for solution if they don't know what went wrong. But with a system, you save time looking for an answer and you won't be spending unnecessarily for irrelevant solutions.

Risk taking

No matter you are running an offline or online business, there will be risk. There is no guarantee that you will make any profit or getting your capital back.

Let's look at it this way, if you don't dare to take the risk, will you be able to be your own boss?

That is why you need to understand your business to minimize your risk.

Teamwork

Just look at any successful business in the world. Does the business owner do all the things by himself?

If you want to have a successful business, you need to learn delegate responsibilities to someone else. If you are running an online business, you should consider outsource some of your works.

I am afraid that you might be too tired to enjoy the profit from your business if you do all the things by yourself.

Persistence

When you started your business, you might not get your return as soon as you think. Even you make some money, the result might not be as lucrative as you have imagined. Often, that is when most people give up their business.

But before you throw in the towel, I urge you to think about this "Rome was not built in one day" and that goes the same to your business.

Once you have decided to start your own business, you should start to encrypt persistency into your DNA too.

When you are running your own business, there will be more challenges running into you. If you are not persistence in pursuing your dream, what you have done so far will be flush into the drain.

Learn from mistakes

There is a high tendency that you will make mistakes in your business.

It can be a single word in your message that ruins your business. You might not like one of the words in this post and cause you to not find out more about the ad at the side.

It can be this paragraph that causes you to not believe in me.

There are lots of chances for you to make mistakes in your business. But no matter what it is and how heavy it is, you must be prepare to learn from the mistakes.

Your Biggest Fear In Affiliate Marketing...

If I am right, your biggest fear in affiliate marketing is same as mine when I started the business,

If you don't know who Terry Fox is, let me give you a brief introduction about him. Terry Fox was a Canadian with bone cancer who ran 3,339 miles (around 23.3 miles per day or 5,373km) in 143 days with one prosthetic leg to raise money for cancer research. He is considered one of Canada greatest heroes and his run has impacted a lot of people.

In the video, you can see him running in day and rain. Can you imagine the pain to run with a prosthetic leg and bone cancer? Can you imagine celebrating your last birthday in a run?

Possibly Terry never thought of what if he fail to run? Maybe he also never thought of he will break another leg or worsen his bone cancer during the run. He only focuses on what he wants which is to raise money for cancer research.

So, from now on, focus on what you want for your affiliate marketing business. If you want to earn an extra $2000 from your affiliate marketing business, focus on that. If you want to be financially free with affiliate marketing, focus on that.

When you are afraid that you will lose your money with affiliate marketing, it means that you are not in control of your finance. So, this is your time to learn to manage your finance.

With all the money you have every month, after deducting the necessary expenses, how much you still remain to invest in your affiliate marketing business? Invest that money into something you must have to build your affiliate marketing business.

Long Tail...

Are you targeting common keywords or long tail keywords for your affiliate marketing business?
Many internet marketers go into internet marketing with keywords or key phrases that are commonly used by other internet marketers. It is normal to think that your prospects will look for your product with common keywords. Your competitors think the same.

When that happens, your website will rank low on the SERP (search engine result page) because you are sharing the same keywords with don't know how many other websites.

That is why you should start looking into long tail keywords. These keywords are cluster of words that is low competition and targeted.

Besides, when you look at the 2 keywords, you can see that the long tail keyword also rules out a lot of untargeted traffic. People might be just looking for information about affiliate marketing instead of the opportunity to make money with it.

Some might think that it is difficult cranking out long tail keywords. You can actually leverage on the free keyword research tool online like Free Wordtracker Online Tool. Start your search with common keywords and as you go down the search result, you will see some interesting long tail keywords.

After that, Google the long tail keywords to look for the number of competing websites. You will eventually find the proper keywords to earn your affiliate marketing income.

When you answer members' questions, you are branding yourself as someone knowledgeable in the topic. When your readers think your reply is helpful, they will want to know more about you and how you can help. That is the time they will click on your signature link and become your targeted traffic.

And if your offer really hit with what they need, they will get your product without second thought.

The second way you can get targeted traffic is by article marketing. You share valuable information in your articles with your readers and to help you draw more traffic through articles, you should focus on articles on "how to" and "tips" about your niche. When your readers enjoy your articles, they will click your resource box link and visit you.

The third way to get your targeted traffic is through your newsletters or ezines. People subscribe to your newsletters or ezines because they value your information. You can highlight how your subscribers can benefit from your offer and direct them to your website.

Branding is very important to whatever business you are in. it is not just about building an image about your product, it also involve building image about you.

I read this in the newspaper and think this can really help in your affiliate marketing success.

I suppose that you are good with branding your product. So, the example I show you will be about branding yourself.

1. Brand vision

What is your ultimate goal in affiliate marketing? Are you clear about it? Do you want to be the world highest earning affiliate marketer?

2. Brand mission

What is your mission in the market? What can you do for your prospects and customers? Do you want to be their leader, mentor and friend?

3. Brand experience

What can your customers experience when they do business with you? Safety, satisfaction or strong support?

Stroke on your customers emotion and they will stroke you back.

4. Brand relationship

Will you buy from a stranger or someone you know & trust?

You must build long term relationship with your customers. It is always easier to sell to satisfied customers than new one. Who knows, your customers might even be your speak person. Remember, word of mouth is a very powerful advertising tool.

5. Brand positioning

Where do you stand in your customers' mind? Do you have something unique and different?

Ever heard of "unique selling proposition (USP)"? You are the best USP in the whole wide world. Because there is only one YOU, one unique you in this world.

Sell yourself. Drum that into your customers' mind.

6. Brand character

Are you just a robot that creates messages from your processor?

Let your customers know who you are. Share your passion and enthusiasm through text, audio or video.

Do You Want To Be Rich?

If you want to be rich, proper investment is more important than saving.

Looking at the current economy situation and further devalue of money in the future, you can have a rough idea that it will take you a lot of time to be rich by saving your money.

So, it is wise that you look into some investments to secure your financial future.

What can you invest then?

Of course you can invest into the share market, mutual funds, real estates and many more. If you are not familiar with any of these investments, you can hire a professional or learn to be a professional yourself.

Personally, I would recommend you to do both because being totally dependent on someone else is never a good thing especially we are talking about your hard earned money. If you have some knowledge in what you are investing into, at least you can discuss with the professionals about how to maximize your profit.

Now, learning is another form of investment.

With this kind of investment, you empower yourself with certain knowledge and skills that no one can ever take away. And I highly recommend that.

Let's think about this, you are a CEO for a company. Unfortunately, you are sick and are force to take rest for a long period. Now, everyone knows that it is not your fault but due to the profitability of the company, you have to be replaced. So, the questions are, will your company wants you back and how long can you survive with your savings?

Things can be different if you have other skills and knowledge. You can give seminars and share your experience as a CEO if you have learnt effective public speaking. You can even write a book about the life of a retrenched CEO if you have learnt to write effectively.

Although those sounded like crap but it highlights how fragile your future can be if you have no other mode of investments.

This post has nothing to do with internet or affiliate marketing, it is just something from my friend and to share with all of you.

1. Seize the opportunity

You should know that good things hardly stay long. Once they are gone they are gone. If you think this is a once in a lifetime chance, you must grab it immediately.

2. Keep in contact with your friends

Friends don't come with a snap of finger. You put in effort and build the friendship. Don't you think is a waste that you throw away something so precious? Take the initiative and call your friends now.

3. Treasure the relationship

We live in a society and interact with people everyday. How you interact with others can either strengthen or break the relationship. Unless you are trying to get something from the relationship, you should be genuine when dealing with others.

4. Trust in yourself

Books, seminars, coaching programs or consultants only pave the way to self-confidence. None of them can make you believe in yourself unless you truly believe in yourself. Start your day with positive affirmation and build the trust in yourself. You will be to tackle almost anything if you have the strong faith in yourself.

5. Be humble

People just want to help when they offer their advice. Sometime it might sound like deafening clang and sometime it might sound like music to your ear. But no matter how it sounds, you should accept their advice and analyze whether their comments are useful or not.

6. Life can be vulnerable

Many thought of exercising more and eating more healthily when they are sick. By the time you thought of that, you might be lying on the sick bed. Start your exercising and eating plan today.

7. Try to be helpful

If you have read any superhero comics, you will notice that the superhero will come to you when you call for it. We are not superhero still we can attend to others whenever we can.

8. Be honest

You and I make mistakes and so do others. The most important thing is that you are able to admit your mistakes before you start to rectify them. Hiding your mistake is destructive enough. It is even worse if you blame your mistake to others.

9. Love life

Life is full of beautiful things. The soft sunshine in the morning, the gentle wind on the beach, the magnificent view of the mountains and there are a lot more things to be appreciated. Love your life as you love yourself and enjoy it to the fullest.
