Let's imagine you have setup your own website and you are promoting your affiliate marketing business. But traffic won't come just because you have built your website. You need to build them too. How can you do that then? In this post, I am going to share with you some tips how you can generate traffic by linking to other sites.

1. Link through social networking site

Many affiliate marketers are leveraging on the increase popularity of social networking site like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. You can advertise your affiliate marketing website in the user profile and link it back to your website.

And if you are using a blog to run your business, you can even RSS the content to the social networking site so that your friends and group members will be notify that you have updated your content.

2. Link through blogs

Speaking of blog, you should network with blogs that compliment with yours and you can ask the blog owners whether they can link back to your blog.

The secret to getting link through blogs is your content. Your readers are going to judge your base on your content and if you want to more links to link back to your blog, you better make sure that you publish quality content on your blog.

There are recommendations that you should comment on others blog post so that you can leave your link at the comment box. Now, there is nothing wrong with this method. However, I personally feel that it took me a lot of time to read and comment on other post. So, I have given up on this method already.

And I have noticed that there are people who used software or other automated method to post their comments and links on the blogs. I am not sure how this work but I guessed they maybe put a simple comment and their links in automation and blast the comments and links to the various blogs that they have chosen.

Now, this might improve your ranking on the search engines, but call me old fashion because I think you have to earn your link sincerely. If you want to earn your link this way, please make sure that you read the post and comment accordingly.

3. Link through forums

Forums linking is similar to blogs linking where you read the thread, leave your comment and link back to your affiliate marketing website through your signature. However, I personally prefer commenting on forums because you can learn different information that is happening in the affiliate marketing business.

And just to remind you, the internet is constantly changing and new ways to link back to your affiliate marketing business might evolve later in the future. So, it is good that you look at how other affiliate marketers link their business and keep your toes about the development of the business.
