How To Write Articles For Your Readers

If you are using article marketing to build your affiliate marketing business, the following tips will be most useful to you.

1. Short paragraph

You are straining your readers' eyes when your paragraph is too long and subconsciously, you are giving a bad impression to your readers. Some of them might even leave your articles immediately when they see your paragraphs are jumbled together. So, you just lost a precious lead.

Personally, I think it is good that you can structure your paragraph in maximum of 2-3 sentences. It is even better that you can summarize what you want to say in a single sentence.

2. Bullets and numbering

Bullets and numbering are important when you want to stress a few points in your article. This makes what you want to say stand out and easy to read.

I know that you don't have this feature when you are writing in notepad or wordpad (I am not sure about Mac, please tell me if you know) but that is not a big deal because you can always put in the HTML code or leverage on the directories software when you submit your articles.

3. Sub-headings

If you have been following my blog and articles, you will see that I like to use this in my writings. This is a good way to separate what you want to say and still keep your points in the article. Besides, it makes me feel good when I display my writing this way. :-)

Also, you made it easy for your readers to scan what you want to say and that give them a brief picture of what they are going to see in your article. You can then keep your readers attended to your article. By the way, do remember to bold or highlight your sub-heading whenever it is possible so that your readers will know that they are heading into something new.

4. Title

When you are writing a title, it is very important that you can grab your readers' attention when they see the title. If you can do that, you are already half way through getting people to read your article. One of the best ways to do that is to put the keywords into your title.

But when you are putting your keywords in the title, make sure that you don't over stretch your title. It is not just that the article directories will reject your article when the title is too long, your readers will also feel something odd when the title is too long.

5. Content

Since the title only got people half way through reading your article, what is the other half to get your readers completely into your article? What else except content?

And try to make your content as light as possible (at least that is how I see it should) so that it is an easy read on your readers. However, that shouldn't block you from delivering your core message professionally. It will be marvelous when you can relate what you want to say with an example that is related to your target readers.

If you are promoting an affiliate marketing business for carpet cleaning, you should know how your readers feel when their precious carpet was stained and worry that it won't come off. When you put something your readers can understand, it is easier to get them to follow your article to the end and click on your business link.

As you can see, the common goal when writing your article is to make it easy to read. There is nothing bombastic about it and you certainly shouldn't stress yourself over it.
