Have you ever dreamt that your bank account will suddenly fill with a lot of zeros when you check it one day? Or have you ever dreamt of finding the secret chamber of treasures?

I am not sure have you dream about it but I sure did. However that never happens to me. :-(

I am still a 9-5 guy with a sales job, waking up in the same room of mine. I am not complaining about my job and environment but it can be better.

Since fantasy couldn't make me rich, then is better I focus on something I can have control of. My own affiliate marketing business.

Of course working for my own is not easy, it is even more difficult because I need to juggle between my day job. I also had my breaking point and I am lucky that my family and girl friend supported me. :-)

They told me wealth and success only happen to people who work their way no matter what.

It was the reason I hang to ever since. Whenever I am going to quit, I will tell myself the reason again. And thanks to my family and girlfriend, I am now enjoying my life with them. :-)

You too can be successful in your affiliate marketing business if you stay strong with your reason. So if you are going to quit,

1. Recall why you started your journey in the first place.
2. Hold that thought in your mind.
3. Start working again.

The US just announced that they will have a cut of interest to stimulate the economy. So what is it to do with you? Of course this might be a good time to invest in the market.

It is good that the cut can be extended longer but what if the economy got better? Will the rate be up again? There is just too much uncertainty. Even if they maintain the rate or lower the rate some more, won’t you be interested to have more money to invest into the market?

Isn’t there a better way to earn your money in a long term basis for you to secure your financial future?

Be in Control...

I had lunch and spoken with an old friend yesterday. She told me that she envy me and wanted to have her own business.

I smiled at her & welcome her to join affiliate marketing but I told her affiliate marketing is not as easy as she understand. It requires a strong heart, hard work and more hard work.

I also ask her the reason why she wanted to have her own business? If she just wanted a career change, affiliate marketing might not be her way out.

Yes, affiliate marketing really help me to earn my living and quit my job but that is because I knew what I want and I believed that affiliate marketing is my way out and so I worked hard to make it happen.

Of course affiliate marketing can help me to earn massively but that was not the main reason I joined affiliate marketing. My main reason was that:

I can be in control...

Maybe I came from a sales background and that help me to realize the uncertainty of employment.

Your company might not look at how hard you work, they just want the figures (is logic also for a sales oriented company). I was warned that if I failed to get the numbers up, I might be unfit for the job and they will have to change me.

From that day on I knew that I have to start thinking about a back up plan. Then, I found affiliate marketing and I knew that it is my I need and I started working with it ever since.

Of course, I didn't quit my job right away. I still need my day job incase anything went wrong. I advice you to do the same for your affiliate marketing venture, no matter how much you hate your job.

Do Something!

After you have set your goal, is time to do something.

Do you know how many people out there bought tons of ebooks, read them and then leave them in their hard drive?

They have all the knowledge and they didn’t do anything about it. What is wrong with them? I sure can learn something from them if they are willing to move and teach.

Affiliate marketing is a great way for you to earn a living but if you don’t do anything, nothing will happen. Money doesn’t drop from the sky, you know?

If you complaints don’t know where to start but if you are willing, you can start by:

• Identifying your niche
• Getting a hosting package
• Building your website
• Registering a domain name (only do this when you are certain of your niche)
• Registering a blog
• Write an article about your niche
• Register to a forum as member
• Getting a diary for your affiliate marketing
• Telling your family and friends about your venture into affiliate marketing and seek their support (please be proud of yourself and feel no shame)
• Stop admiring others and belief you too can be successful in affiliate marketing

As you can see, there are things you can really if you decided to move forward with your affiliate marketing business.

So please start doing something.

Have You Set Your Goal for 2008?

Have you set your goal for 2008? I have.

A goal helps you to focus on the task at hand and let you have a clear picture of what you need to do to achieve your goal. Then you must do what you can to achieve your goal. You have to move out of your comfort zone and change your approach as many times as it need.

Of course you will face various challenges and failures before your success. But if you have a strong dedication to succeed, you will find a way to overcome your challenges and failures.

You also need to review your progress in a timely manner, only then you will know how far you are from achieving your goal. Then you can adjust your strategies to align yourself toward your goal.

You are more likely to success if you have set your goal. After you set your goal, please be committed to achieve it.

For me I have set my 2008 goal to learn more so that I can share more of the knowledge with others and they can benefit from what I know.

Beside that I have also reviewed my last year achievement. It was indeed a challenging year and I was impressed that I manage to accomplish what I set out to do last year. So I would express my deepest gratitude to all who made that possible.

Thank you to all of you. :-)

Besides setting the goal to top my last year earning, I also set some goals to enjoy my life.

I have long to reward my girlfriend for her support when I started my affiliate marketing business (I think you also understand how difficult it was when you first started your affiliate marketing business). If not for her support I have long given up the business and still having my 8-5 job and living paycheck to paycheck.

So I am going to surprise her with a Korea trip at the end of the year (I never tell her about this blog, hehe…) because I know she also long to visit Korea especially visiting the site for “Winter Sonata” (a Korean series that she love).

I just can’t wait to see her face when I tell her the good news. :-)

I am grateful to be able to travel to anywhere I like, when I like and for as long as I like with the one I like. Again I am grateful to them who help me to make all the things possible.

A piece of advice, share some special moment with your love one and make it memorable.
